At last week’s regular meeting of the Calumet City Council, officials approved the agenda, the March council meeting minutes and receipts and disbursements as presented.
Councilors also engaged in a discussion about the Hill Annex Mine State Park closing. State funding for the park will end May 1, 2016.
The Public Works Department will be flushing hydrants May 9 to 13. Spring Yard clean up days will be May 2 to 20, followed by blight checks. The council approved a Dietz Bros. proposal to do repairs and put in LED dual lights on the Radio Tower at an estimated cost of $33,750.00.
The council also approved having the old fire hall and land by it surveyed. There are two possible buyers interested.
In two final items of business, the council approved a $100 donation to the Greenway High School Day of Caring Project on May 19. The council also noted that the Minnesota Department of Health Consumer Confidence Report was received and posted.
