The ISD 318 School Board convened for its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, March 21. Board chair Ben Hawkins announced that he and fellow board member Sue Zeige had negotiated a three year contract with Assistant Superintendent Rochelle VanDenHeuvel. Hawkins said that VanDenHeuvel’s salary had been adjusted using the high school principal as a base rate. Terms of the contract also call for VanDenHeuvel to receive a 2 percent salary increase for the 2017/2018 school year. Hawkins also said that medical and dental reimbursement had been incorporated into the salary schedule as well as a technology stipend.
In other business, the board:
• Accepted one retirement, two replacement hires, and two resignations.
• Approved posting for 2016/2017 positions.
• Approved the independent provider application for the sport of LaCrosse.
• Approved the continuation of a contract with Phyllis Hauck for services to teach the blind and visually impaired.
